Huangyangie Post
1 min readLocated at the northwest of Mount Jinggangshan,Huangyangjie Post is 1343 meters above the sea level.With diffuse fogs,the post looks like the boundless ocean stretching to the horizon,so it was also named Wangyangjie.
Huangyangijie Post was one of the five military posts in the base area.It guarded the stralegic point of Lingxian of Hunan and Ninggang of Jiangxi to Jinggangshan.Inthe summer of 1928,the army built 3 fortifications,and constructed a barrack on the ruins of an inn garrisoned by soldiers.
On Aug.30th,1928,the enemy troops from Jiangxi and Hunan provinces attacked Mount Jinggangshan with 4 regiments.Our army and people,under the leadership of the regimental commander Zhu Yunqing,the Party representative HeTingying and the battalion commander Chen Yi’an,made resistance to the enemy’s attacks and repulsed them for many times which resulted in the great victory at Huangyangjie Post.
To celebrate the victory at Huangyangjie Post,in 1965,the Monument to the victory at Huangyangjie Post was built with Zhu De’s inscription”The Monument to the Victory at Huangyangjie”.
In 1969,the Monument was rebuilt into Ford Pavilion,which was resumed to the original monument in 1977 with a horizontal stele inscribed with the poem Xijiangyue Jinggangshan writteu by Mao Zedong to praise the victory at Huangyangjie Post.
On March 4th,1961,Huangyangjie Post,the Fourth Red Army Barracks and the huge tree at Huangyangjie were issued by the State Council to be the key cultural relics under the slate protection.
