With the coming of 21st century, Jiangxi Province sticks to the policy of opening-up and internal reform so as to speed up her amalgamation with the world economy, and develop her opening economy, which is getting more and more extroversive. The foreign trade has enjoyed a rapid growth and entered a totally new Great breakthrough has been gained in our opening economy in the past few years.940 foreign-invested enterprises have been approved in 2005. The total sum offoreign capital introduced by contract reached USD 3,876 million increasing by 24.53%; the foreign investment actually utilized of reached USD 2,423 milion increasing by 18.04%. Up to now, investment from more than 60 countries has entered into Jiangxi Province.

In 2005, import and export turnover of Jiangxi Province achieved USD 4,059 million, among which export turnover took up USD 2,440 million with an increase of 22.3%. Total contract amount of foreign contracted projects and labor export summed up to USD 285 million-USD 211 million, which increased by 26%.

Through the growth in the past few years, new structure has formed in the export of Jiangxi foreign trade. Historical transformation has taken place in our export pattern. Production enterprises have become main force in our export.A great number of foreign invested enterprises have settled in Jiangxi and this greatlystimulated our export. Foreign and domestic invested enterprises have become the main momentum for the increase of our foreign trade.

With the constant optimization of export structure, industrial finished products have accounted for 93% of total export; mechanical and electric products, with the improvement of quality, keep growing in their proportion in export. The total number of export enterprises in Jiangxi Province has reached 2042.

The environment for foreign trade has been fairly perfected. The flight courses in Nanchang International Airport keep on increasing, and customs, inspection and quarantine organizations have been greatly strengthened in their service capability.

The establishment of Jiujiang Export Processing Zone and Nanchang to Shenzhen and Xiamen sea-land transport system have completed two important steps in the perfection of foreign trade platform and provided solid foundation for the acceleration of our opening economy，especially foreign trade.

2006 is the first year of our 1lth Five-year Plan.We will take advantage of this important strategic opportunity to continue our macro opening strategy to speed up the process of”joining Yangtze River/Pearl River Triangles，connecting Hong Kong/Macao/Taiwan and getting involved into the globalization”.We will actively join the world economy system in order to raise our capacity in international economic division，and participate in international economic and technological cooperation and competition in greater range，wider fields and higher levels.The scale and standards of our opening economy will be further improved.

Enlarge the foreign trade scale with extreme efforts.We will try whatever we can to expand our export by encouraging and guiding all possible enterprises to get involved in exportation.Meanwhile，we will support and help major export enterprises by strengthening our guidance and policy preference and offering priorities in customs declaration，tax drawback，inspection and quarantine.Export promotion，adjustment system between tax/trade departments，bank/trade departments will be established and perfected.

Expand the international markets for our products.Greater attention will be paid to organizing enterprises as many as possible to attend all possible fairs and exhibitions in and outside China，especially Guangzhou Trade Fair and Shanghai Trade Fair.We will try to create more chances for our enterprises to get acquainted with more foreign buyers and expand their international markets.

Enhance the platform construction of foreign economic and trade cooperation.

The platform construction will be continued to be improved so as to establish more integrated organizations for the healthy development of our foreign trade industry；export ports construction will also be further strengthened.Customs efficiency and tax drawback speed will be further improved in order to decrease the transport cost for export products.
