Ingredients:
500g beef
200g potatoes
Seasoning:
50g vegetable oil,20g soy sauce,20g cooking wine,5g star anise,5g prickly ash,10g salt,20g sugar,10 finely-cut shallot,10g crushed ginger,20g cornstarch water mixture.
Directions:
Cut the beef and potatoes into cubes of 3cm.Put them in the boiling water for 2-3minutes,then take out.
Heat the oil in the wok to a boiling.Put in the finely cut shallots and crushed ginger until they produce a strong aroma.Then put in the beef cubes,soy sauce,cooking wine,sugar and salt and stir-fry evenly.
Put in proper water,prickly ash,star anise and bring them to boil.Then use low fire to braise them for 30-50 minutes.Put the potato in the wok 20-30 minutes later.
Put in the cornstarch-water mixture when the potatoes become softened.Change to strong fire until the water nearly dries up and then the dish is ready to serve.
