Partial Bathing Method
2 min readThis bliss is the goal of visiting a hot springs spa or sauna after all. There are many different therapies you can partake in and many different opinions on which is the best.
After my own experience and visits the goal is that you will now have enough information to seek out an opportunity try visit some of the hot springs in Liaoning. However the best advise I can give on how to really enjoy the hot springs I have to admit is not my own. After being inundated with pamphlets, brochures and all manner of research,I almost overlooked a two-page spread in the back of the Yingkou Xiongyue Hot Spring Resort brochure. With elegant line drawings of an ancient Chinese maiden, it explained how to best enjoy the hot springs and become one with the Chinese hot springs experience through six methods and nine steps.
Partial Bathing Method
The idea is to soak different parts of your body with your feet being the first and the most common to go into the water first. As is the belief in Chinese medicine at the soles of your feet reside many pressure points that connect to different systems over your entire body so it makes sense to begin there.I have had many a foot bath and foot massage and this cannot be more relaxing of a place to start.
Thermal Cycling Method
Here the idea is to alternate between hot and cold water immersions. The heat opens the pores and removes toxins, the cold constricts them back closed keeping them pure and clean. The overall experience is invigorating and not only braces the skin but awakens your mind.
Impact Bathing Method
Many of us have massage-style shower heads at home now and that is essentially the idea of impact bathing. Jets of water of varying power help relieve tension and ease muscle and joint aches. Becoming relaxed is the goal here and a simple water massage is a great start.
Half-body Bathing Method
Since we either stand on our feet all day or worse sit down all day at a computer, submerging our lower half into a hot spring bath is great way to recuperate. Our legs, knees,
hips and lower back are constantly under attack from our sedentary lifestyle and a good soak is a wonderful way to loosen up those tight muscles.
Full-body Bathing Method
Like at home in our own private bathtub, sinking below the water surface and emerging clean and refreshed is the goal of a full-body submersion. From our neck down to our toes the hot spring water envelops us and relieves all of our stress and pain.
