Collections of Dunhuang Relics
2 min readIt can be known from what is stated above that from the moment they were discovered, the Dunhuang documents had suffered from cheating and plunder by explorers of different countries and the great majority of them were scattered all over the world, now collected in dozens of museums and libraries in China, England, France, Russia, Japan, Germany, America, Korea, India, Sweden, Denmark and other countries.
In recent years, through the efforts of domestic publishing circle and academicworld, the main body of Dunhuang documents have been photographed and gradually published. At the present moment, the Dunhuang documents in Chinese collected in th Great Britain have been compiled into Ying Cang Dunhuang Wenxian (Hanwen Fojing Yiwai)(Dunhuang Documents Collected in UK) and published by Sichuan Renmin Publishing House, those collected in France and Russia were compiled into Fa Cang Dunhuang Xiyu Wenxian (Dunhuang and Western Regions Documents Collected in France) and E Cang Dunhuang Wenxian (Dunhuang Documents Collected in Russia) and published by Shanghai Ancient Books Publishing House, and those collected in China National Library have been compiled into Guojia Tushuguan Cang Dunhuang Yishu (Dunhuang Documents Collected in National Library of China) and published by Beijing Library Publishing House.
Apart from that, other collections in Beijing University, Shanghai City Museulm, Shanghai City Library, Tianjin Art Museum and others have been published by Shanghai Ancient Books Publishing House. Collections in Dunhuang Academy, Gansu Provincial Museum, Jiuquan City Museum, Zhangye City Museum, Dunhuang City Museum, DingxiCounty Museum, Gaotai County Museum, Yongdeng County Museum, Gansu Provincial Library, Northwest Normal University, Gansu Chinese Medicine Insititute have been compiled into Gansu Cang Dunhuang Wenxian (Dunhuang Documents Collected In Gansu Province) and published by Gansu Renmin Publishing House. Various other collections in Zhejiang have been compiled into Zhe Cang Dunhuang Yishu (Dunhuang Documents Collected in Zhejiang Province) and published by Zhejiang Education Press.
While museums and libraries of most countries have publicized their collections, Dunhuang documents collected in some countries, districts, and individuals are covered with mysterious veil and have not been made public yet.
