Education in the Sui and Tang Dynasties

Not until the Sui Dynasty had China been unified，and the country as a whole was becoming stronger.During the Tang Dynasty，the entire country started developing，and this quickly became the most prosperous period in China’s history.People began using the Imperial Examination System in the Sui Dynasty，which was open to all.The Tang Dynasty used the Imperial Examination System to take away much of the nobles’power.

During this period，Han Yu（768-824）was the most influential scholar in the theory of education.He illustrated his points particularly in his essay“On the Teacher”，and he elaborated the teacher’s role and the standard for a good teacher.In other essays，he expressed his attude toward successful tan Yu study and research，and the importance of discovering a talent.Liu Zongyuan（773一819），another important scholar，believed that the cultivation of people should be done according to their nature in his story“The Life of Camel Guo”and“the Tree Planter”.
