Taiziwan Park
1 min readIf you are basing yourself closer to West Lake-which many tourists understandably do-but fancy a break from the shore-side crowds, then Taiziwan Park, also known as Prince Bay Park,is a fantastic getaway.Located on the part of Hupao Road that loops around to the southwest side of West Lake, this park is a popular spot for wedding photography, and it boasts a large wooden windmill that sits ma jestically at the base of lush hills.Legend has it that the park used to be the site of Cuanyuan Garden, the garden for temporarily keeping the coffins of two princes in the Southern Song Dynasty, hence Taiziwan’s moniker. When spring hits, this park becomes one of the best spots in town for picnicking or just hanging out.Wander around the park and you’ll see all kinds of flowers, especially tulips and cherry trees in full bloom.
