The most impressive salt carving is the food tray carved with a large piece of salt crystal, which can be used to hold food, to view, and also to season, Xinjiang people like eating boiled mutton, when relatives and friends gather the host will offer the mutton in the salt tray the guests can first feast their eyes for the tray is exquisite and delicate, and then they could grab the mutton to rub on the tray and eat which is ingenious beyond description with salt and fresh mixed together.
