“Bayinbuluke” is a Mongolian word meaning “the place rich in springs”. So Bayinbuluke Grassland is the vast grassland having abundant springs and lush flowers and grass.
The beauty of Bayinbuluke Grassland is the beauty of vast. It is the second largest grassland in China with total area of23,80 and the grazing capacity of2.5 5 million livestock. “The sky is dark green, the grassland is boundless, and cattle and sheep are visible when the wind blows the grass” it is a true portrayal of Bayinbuluke Grassland with green grass growing luxuriantly, strong fragrance pervading in the air, rivers weaving, waves beating the banks, and springs flowing in all directions.
The beauty of Bayinbuluke Grassland is the beauty of mountains. The Grassland is an alpine pasture surrounded by mountains of 200-2,800m above sea level, constituted by Ikyouerdusi Basin and Baga Youerdusi Basin There are 566 mountains and 566 ravines on the grassland, and the famous ones are Kunes Ditch, Balguntay Ditch, and Bayingolin Ditch, and so on. It is warm in winter and cool in summer in those ditches, so they are known as “the green ditches”. There are 6 forest districts in different sizes with an area of 22,000hm2, and Kunes forest zone and Kuikewusu Forest Zone are well-known. Bayinbuluke Grassland is surrounded by the delicately beautiful mountains full of lush forest, and with clear and green rivers flowing across. It is quite soul-stirring to ride a horse on the grassland of endless green grass in front and dyed Tianshan snow-capped peaks in distance.
The beauty of Bayinbuluke Grassland is the beauty of lakes and springs. There are 7 large lakes such as Swan Lake and Bayer Lake, and countless small lakes. There are 13 springs of different sizes, and the famous ones are Alxian Spring, Kuerde Hot Spring, and Haer Hot Spring. There are 20 rivers criss-crossing on the Bayinbuluke Grassland, such as Kaidu River, Kunes River, Alagou River, and Bayingolin River. The mother river of Bayingolin people-Peacock River winds on the Bayinbuluke Grassland, flows out of the canyon and finally into the Bosten Lake after playing freely on the grassland.
