Yuqitashi Pasture

 Yuqitashi Pasture

There is a picturesque summer pasture in the northwest border of Wuqia County in Kizilsu Kirghiz Autonomous Prefecture -the fascinating Yuqitashi Pasture. The pasture has been listed in the Records of Places of Interest in China for its unique idyllic scenery.

Yuqitashi means “three stones”. According to the explanation of the local people, it is the pasture among three snow-capped mountains. These three snow-capped mountains stand tall and upright with an altitude of over 4,500m. The snow on the peaks does not melt throughout the year, like three solid reservoirs. The ice and snow will melt in each summer, and then the melting water will form several gurgling streams. Numerous springs irrigate the vast pasture.

Yuqitashi pasture is the highest and largest summer pasture in southern Xinjiang. The mountains are low, the slopes are gentle, and the terrain is broad, and there is fertile soil and lush vegetations on the pasture, such as stipa capillata, whin, kobresia myosuroides, potentilla chinensis, and taraxacum. The region is rich in rain and snow, so it is a paradise for livestock, and a treasured place in the pasturing area with abundant water and lush Vegetations.
