Qitai Demon Town
1 min readThis Demon Town is located more than 100km north of Qitai County in Hui Autonomous Prefecture of Changji, and 40km east of Palette Town, and it is the typical Yardang landform. The part being like a township most is a hill of about one kilometer long, and the peak is grotesque and gaudy, just like a building of ancient Roman.
The wind-erosion rock stratums are well-arranged, looking like exactly doors and windows. The most peculiar things are the two huge rocks on the left, which are almost the same as the ancient gate towers, and their shapes change along with the changing of time.
When the sun rises, they look like two armored warriors from a distance; at night, when the moon hangs in the sky, the higher one is like a grandfather wearing a bamboo hat and the lower one is like an innocent child leaning close to the knees of the old man, The real look of the “Demon Town” will only be fully revealed at windy night Whenever the gale blows, the town will be full of dreary cries and screams: some sounds like the bell ring, as if being angry or irritated; some like a woman’s sad weep, and some like the creepy shriek.
