Being China’s biggest island, with a total area of about 36,000 square kilometers,Taiwan includes 64 islands previously known as the Penghu Islands and 21 other islands.

In the reign of Emperor Guangxu, the Qing government formally made Taiwan province,and“ai as the abbreviation.
