The Great Wall is one of the world’s most massivepand magnificent projects.Starting out in the east on the banks of the Yalu River in Liaoning Province，the Wall extends from Shanhaiguan Pass for 12，700 kilometers to Jiayuguan in the Gobi desert，thus known as the Ten Thousand Li Wall in China.
2.Badaling Great Wall
The Badaling Great Wall，constructed in 1502（during the Ming Dynasty），once served as a crucial military fortification，and is now the most impressive and representative section of the striking Great Wal.It is located in Yanqing County，about 70 kilometers（43.4 miles）from the downtown area of Beijing.
3.Juyongguan Pass
Juyongguan，a gateway to ancient Beijing from Inner Mongolia，was located in the northwest of Changping District.It was first built in the Ming Dynasty（1368-1644）and is a crucial pass of the Great Wall，which is known as”Tian Xia Di Yi Guan”.It is made in various shapes，among which the most famous is the unique shape resembling”ren”.
4.Jiayuguan Pass
There stand14 major passes at places of strategic？importance along the Great Wall，the most important being Shanhaiguan and Jiayuguan.Cleft between the snow-capped Qilian Mountains and the rolling Mazong Mountains，Jiayuguan was on the ancient Silk Road.The gate-tower of Jiayuguan is anattractive building of excellent workmanship9.It has an inner city and an outer city，the former being square in shape and surrounded by a wall11.7 meters high and730 meters in circumferenceo.
5.Shanhaiguan Pass
Shanhaiguan Pass is situated between two sheer cliffs forming a neck connecting north China with the northeast.It had been，therefore，a key junction contested by all strategists and many famous battles were fought here.
