POACHED GAI LAN WITH OYSTER SAUCE
1 min readThis is the default gai lan recipe that you see on nearly all chinese restaurant menus.Its popularity,however,is only testament to its beauty and simplicity.If you want to elevate the dish with a finishing flourish,try sprinkling some dried shrimp roe powder,if you can source it,on top just before serving

INGREDIENTS
150g gai lan
3 tablespoons good-quality oyster sauce
1 tablespoon sesame oil
1.Add the gai lan to a pan of boiling water and cook for 3 minutes or until piercing a stem with a knife meets with only a slight resistance
2.Drain well and pour over the oyster sauce and sesame oil before serving
