2 min read

The town, with a police station, an armed forces department, a radio and television station, and a health-center, has jurisdiction over villages, namely Lop Nor village, Kroraina village, Hongshijing village, and Hongliujing village. The total population of the town is 4,000 people, mainly in Lop Nor village.

The establishment of the Lop Nor town was to develop the kali salt resource. The kali abundant salt reserve in Lop Nor is widely distributed in the area of 1,470 square kilometers. Its large potential value can absolutely make Lop Nor the largest kali salt production base in China. Creatures can’t survive here, for there is no fresh water, and the soil salt content is too high.

A decade has passed, and Lop Nor town is trying to become a modern industrial town now.

Tekes, the Eight Diagrams Town

Speaking of the Eight Diagrams Town, Tekes, let’s start with the “adventure”of a foreign driver.

The car was heavily overloaded, so the driver chose an outlying road that he believed to make round to the Eight Diagram Cultural Square, avoiding the traffic police. Soon, he saw a traffic police afar by the light, he was so afraid and quickly turned around. But another traffic police appeared ahead when he made a round. He then made another longer round of more circles, but there was still a traffic police ahead. He continued his trying ignoring the “abnormal” phenomenon, making longer and longer round, the poor driver drove in circles the whole night and was completely exhausted, and could not even remember exactly how many rounds he had made. The next day, he told the others about his “experience”, as result, it became a laughing stock. The fact was that the many traffic policemen that he had encountered was the same one at the trigram culture square.
