During the process of development, the enterprise lays special emphasis on the path to integrating production, teaching and research with scientific and technological institutes. Since 1988, the Central Asia Food has carried out extensive and deep cooperation with the Kazakhstan Food Design and Research Institute and the Fruit and Vegetable Research Institute of the Ministry of Agriculture in Kazakhstan and invited scholars from Kazakhstan to give advice on the formula of products. Besides, it also conducted questionnaire and free tasting activities in various selling markets in Kazakhstan, soliciting suggestions from food experts and common consumers. In China, the Central Asia Food has established a long-term cooperative relationship with Jiangnan University, Xinjiang University, Xinjiang Agricultural University, Shihezi University in Xinjiang, Xinjiang University of Finance and Economics and other science research academies and institutes and has become a teaching demonstration base of Xinjiang Agricultural University and Xinjiang University of Finance and Economics. The enterprise is clear about the idea to focus on developing processed products with fresh raw materials. It has more than 30 patents, five new planting varieties, and its products ranked the third place for scientific and technological progress, scientific and technological contribution award, and the second place for new products in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. Foreign experts from Central Asia Food also become the only experts who have ever won the national “Friendship Award”in the Autonomous Region.
In 2005, in order to relieve the situation that the demand for Xinkang products exceeded supply in the Kazakhstan market the Central Asia Food carried out development and research on canned food products aiming at the food consumer markets in five countries of Central Asia relying on the technical support from the Kazakhstan Food Design and Research Institute and Xinjiang Agricultural University. It established the Xinkang Tomato Products Factory, a new domestic supporting enterprise with an area of more than 8,400m-to mainly produce canned food favored by Central Asian consumers, such as tomato sauce, tomato paste, blackcurrant jam and red raspberry jam and cucumbers and hot pepper, etc. Among them, the technology for the production of and formula of tomato sauce and hot pepper sauce obtained the national invention patent The orientation of Xinkang products is produce a generation of products, carry out research and development on a generation of products and preserve a generation of products. Therefore, the enterprise takes canned whole vegetables and canned mixed vegetables, such as steep whole cucumber, as the key for development and reserve, based on existing products, after comprehensive market survey. Since 2003, the enterprise’s annual scientific research expenditure has been making up over 6% of the sales volume.
