Yin and Yang Fish on Miao Embroidery

 Yin and Yang Fish image is frequently found on Miao embroidery works and this makes us conclude that this is no coincidence and no ordinary ornamentation.

The embroiderers who have never gone outside of their native places in Miao country and illiterate, speaking no Mandarin and even no intermarriage with the Han people, what the implications of the image to them Taiji’s( Supreme Principle Yin and Yang image is the core of the Eight Diagrams, which is also the core of Chinese Yin& Yang School of philosophy. Both Taoism and Confucism regard this image a holy one.

 So in this case, is it the Taoism influenced the Miaos or vice verse, or is it that both inherited this perception and image from the common ancestry Miao elders told me, for our Miao people, this means all in one.
