Beihai

Beihai is located at the southern extremity of Guangxi. Covering an area of 3, 300 sq km, it consists of one county and three districts, and has a population of 1.58 million It has won such honors as National Excellent Tourist City, National National Advanced Landscaped City, National Ecological Demonstration Zone.

In the late Qin Dynasty and early Han Dynasty some 2, 200 years ago. After being opened up as a trading port in the mid-19th century, it became an important trading port for south China. The Beihai-Nanning Intercity Train is now in operation. The Guilin-Beihai Highwa h-south through the province has been linked up. The Southwest Sea Access Highway, a national key project, is now open across its full length, from Chengdu in Sichuan to Beiha.

Besides the two province-level holiday resorts of Beihai Silver Beach Holiday Resort and Weizhou Island, there are other famous scenic spots such as Guantouling NationalForest Park, Shankou National Mangrove Nature Reserve, Dugong National Nature Reserve,White Dragon Pearl City, and the Han Tombs Protection Zone, the Pavilion of Bodhisattva Guanyin and Dongpo Pavilion in Hepu. Beihai Silver Beach has been listed as one of China’s top beauty spots,and Weizhou Island is the country’s largest volcanic island.
