Museum of Qin Terra Cotta Warriors and Horses
2 min readThe well-known Terra cotta Warriors and Horses Museum occupies an area of 20 hectares totally.It consists of 3 pits.Pit 1 has an oblong shape.It is 230 meters long from east to west and 62 meters wide from north to south and 5 meters deep.The terra cotta warriors and horses in Pit 1 are ranked in an oblong battle formation of the Qin Dynasty.In the east part of Pit 1,there are 3 rows of terra-cotta warriors wear battle tunics and puttees facing to the east.And there are 70 warriors armed with bows and arrows in each row.The 210 warriors in these 3 rows paly the vanguard role.While the armor-clad warriors carrying long-shaft weapons which indicates military’s key power perhaps are the main part of the battle arrays.Pit 2 has an “L”shape and is composed of 4 different mixed military forces which arranged in four rows.People say that the pottery figures in Pit 2 are over 1,000 pieces,and both horse-driving chariots and saddled horses are 500.Pit 3 is in the concave shape and in which archaeological staff discovered 1 chariot,4 terra-cotta horses and 68 clay armored warriors.Furthermore,thousands of real weapons that perfect inworkmanship were unearthed from these pits.The Terra cotta Warriors and Horses was listed in UNESCO’s World Culture Heritage catalogue in December,1987.

From Xianyang International Airport:Take Airport Shuttle Line 2 to Xi’an Railway Station.Then take touring bus No.5,bus No.914,915 to the final station.
From downtown Xi’an:Take tourism bus No.5 from the east square of Xi’an Railway Station or No.307 from the south gate of Tang Paradise.
From Lintong District:Take bus 914,915 or Special Line 101 and get off at the final destination.
