2 min read

According to the news from the State Electricity Corporation of Mar.18,2002 in Beijing,Great efforts are being made to put up three major channels in the south, middle and north of China for the“electricity transmission from west to east”.The three major channels are disposed like this:the channel in the south starts from the Tianshengqiao Hydraulic Power Station at the junction of Yunnan,Guizhou and Guangxi, aiming at an strategic target of transmitting 10 million kilowatts of electricity to Guangdong Province.

Up to now, three lines for power-transmission have already been connected with the electric network of Guangdong province while the fourth one is under an intensified construction. In addition, the transmission lines from Guizhou to Guangdong and that from Yunnan to Tianshengqiao are to be put up.By doing so,there will be six transmission lines, each of a capacity of 500 kilowatts in among Yunnan,Guizhou,Guangxi and Guangdong provinces and autonomous region to form a trunk power transmission channel in the south.

The channel in the middle:it is targeted at the linkup of the electric network in mid-China and that in Sichuan and Chongqing areas and to put up a power transmission line from the Three Yangtze Gorges to the east of China. The channel inthe middle must be made sufficient to transmit electricity from the large hydraulic power stations from the Three Gorges and Xiluodu to the external regions in China.

The channel in the north:it is within the electric network of north China itself. The power-transmission line leading from Inner Mongolia and Shanxi to the network of Beijing,Tianjin and Tangshan will get strengthened. The newly put-up power-transmission lines will lead from Fengzhen of the Inner Mongolia to Shunyi district, from Tuoketuo to Beijing and from Shentou of Shanxi to Tianjin.
