A Glance of Ganzhou Industry

By now there are sixteen industrial zones in Ganzhou, including Ganzhou Economic and Technical Development Zone, Shahe Industrial Zone, Gan County Industrial Zone, Nankang Industrial Zone, Xinfeng Industrial Zone, Longnan Industrial Zone, Dayu Industrial Zone, Ruijin Industrial Zone, Ningdu Industrial Zone, Yudu Industrial Zone, Xingguo Industrial Zone, Anyuan Industrial Zone, Shangyou Industrial Zone, Huichang Industrial Zone, Dingnan Industrial Zone and Quannan Industrial Zone. However, there are three counties in Ganzhou, which have no industrial zones now, namely, Xunwu County, Chongyi County and Shicheng County. In recent years, the local government spares no efforts in promoting thedevelopment of industry. As a result, industry has been growing stablely and has become a leading force in promoting the economic growth of Ganzhou.

Six leading industries have already been established in Ganzhou. Nonferrous Metal & New Material Processing Industry mainly processes tungsten, rare earth and copper. The rare earth, tungsten and molybdenum products sell briskly in more than50 countries and regions, such as the United States, the Republic of Korea, Canada, and Japan. Biopharmaceuticals, machine-made paper, offset press and other industrial products also have good shares in overseas markets. Nonmetallic Mine & New Materials focuses on processing cement and tin. Machinery & Equipment Manufacturing Industry focuses on generators, air compressors, automobiles and spare parts. Modern Light Textile Industry focuses on chemical papermaking, shoes, knitted garments, etc. Food Processing Industry supplies Hakka foods, dried salted duck, sweet chrysanthemum, dairy products and so on. The last one is Electron & Electrical Appliance Industry. What’s more, four industrial clusters have been formed too. They are tungsten intensive processing industry, rare-earth intensive processing industry, fluorine chemical industry and navel industry. All are going on smoothly and rapidly and their supporting role for Ganzhou industry is becoming more and more obvious.

During the past few years，Ganzhou Party Committee and Government focused on the improvement of industry，and its strategic measure is to make life better and make the city advanced.The government put forward“decision on focusing on the development of industry and further accelerating the industrial development”.In order to carry out Jiangxi Province’s policy of further accelerating the development of industry，the local Party Committee delivered“opinions on further opening up，deepening innovation and accomplishing the extraordinary development of economy”.

It also carried out the strategic plan”connecting with the Yangtze River，the Pearl River and Fujian Province to construct a brand-new Ganzhou”，the plan“further improving enterprise reform，enlarging and strengthening pillar industries and key enterprises and constructing satisfactory industrial parks”，etc.The publication of all these documents established an overall strategy to focus on the development of industry and to promot the overall volume，the scale，the overall quality of industrial economy through investments introduction，structural innovation，bankruptcy，elimination and capita reorganization.

Since carrying out the strategy of strengthening industry，Ganzhou has taken enterprise reform as its guidance，invited investments attentively to perfect modern enterprise system and made every effort to foster industries and key enterprises.As a result，the industrial economy has made considerable achievements and all the economic indices ranked better among the provincial counties（cities，districts），no wonder Zhanggong District in Ganzhou was awarded“Prize for Contribution to Fostering Industry”for four successive years.

In order to achieve a consistent，stable and healthy industrial development in the long term，the general principle of development is that the development of industry shall be pulled forward by investment，facilitated by policies，promoted by science and technology，collaborated by the entire city，and unswervingly takes a new road of industrialization.Some main measures have already been taken，for example，quicken the pace of the formation of industrial bases and backbone industries，take active measures in supporting the leading industries，keep on carrying out the policy of supporting the superior，perfect the mechanism of encouraging the development and expansion of enterprises，spare no efforts to promote the introduction of investments，develop recycling economy and carry out sustainable development.
