The Bamboo Expo Garden is located in the largest homeland of bamboo. It is about 60 kilometers from Hangzhou,64 kilometers from Huzhou city,220 kilometers from Shanghai, and 230 kilometers from Nanjing. Main lines of communication provide it very convenient transportation. Anji Bamboo Expo Garden is one of the most important classic attractions in Anji, and it is a national tourist spot with the honour of AAAA-Grade. China Bamboo Museum in the garden was open to the public on October 26，2000，occupying an area of 12，000 square meters with the total investment of 20 million RMB.The museum is divided into 8 major exhibition parts. They include Historical Resource Hall, Cultivation and Utilization Hall, Literature and Art Hall, Handicraft Articles Hall, AcademicLecture Hall, International Exhibits Hall, and a gallery. All kinds of bamboocrafts and specimens displayed in the museum reflect the history of bamboo and its culture in different periods of the past 6,000 years. No matter whether they come from home or not, they contain the profound connotations of the bamboo culture. Now the museum is honoured with the title of “Best Specialized Bamboo Museum”. It should be mentioned that the museum has a kind of giant dragon bamboo which is the biggest bamboo in the world.

Bamboo Expo Garden also provides tourists a variety of recreational activities, such as drinking tea from the bamboo tube, riding on horseback, walking through bamboo maze, fishing or boating, barbecues, and some artshows. Visitors will see a folk show performed by the local people.
