3 min readwhen we talked about Sanya，the first image coming to our mind might be its unparalleled bays with crystal-clear sea water，unspoiled sandy beaches，diversified coral clusters，shells and tropical fish.But Hainan Island is also famous for its historical figures.Today we will visit Baima Well historical site.
Baima Well is located in Baima Well Town of Danzhou City，which is an important port of Hainan Province，and 130 kilometers far from Haikou City.Danzhou belongs to the tropical monsoon marine climate，and the four seasons are not obviously different from each other.The temperature in spring is high and there is less raining；the climate of winter in Danzhou is mild，with the average temperature about 20℃.It is the best travel time for people from north.The coastline of it is as long as 13.75 kilometers and spread broadly.The Baima Well Town is connected with west circle expressway.Its port terminal is located in the northeast of township which shares the same port with Yangpu Port.The quay is 1，300 meters long.Trades of fishing are booming，which distribute to many places.Furthermore，Baima Well Port is responsible for the most of goods shipping in Hainan Province.
Marine fishery is the pillar industry of Baima Well Town.At present，there are fishing，aquaculture，transportation，processing，trading and so on which are related to marine fishery industry chain.Baima Well Town now has 318 fishing vessel and the total output of aquatic products reaches 86，000 tons.The whole town has nine large seafood processing enterprises.
The major landscapes of Baima Well are the Temple of General Fubo and”the white horse spring”.
According to records, two fubo generals had come to Hainan Island in the Han Dynasty. One is fubo general Lu Bode of the Western Han Dynasty. In BC110 he put down the insurgency, and established Zhuya and Dan’ er counties which started the feudal centralized and direct management to Hainan. Another one is fubo general Ma Yuan of the Eastern Han Dynasty. In BC 41 he led his army to the south, and recovered the centralized administration to south tribes, including Hainan Island. Baima Well scenic area is built to commemorate the two fubo generals.
About Baima Well and fubo generals, there is an ancient and magical legend. According to the legend, in the Eastern Han Dynasty years, fubo general Ma Yuan led his soldiers to station there. Because of the hot weather, the military was so hungry and thirsty that the general used remnant horses to dig a well. Surprisingly, the spring water gushed out. In order to memorize the two fubo generals people built fubo temples and kept this well named Baima Well. There is the largest surviving fubo temple in Fubo Street of Baima Well Town, which was later renamed Baima Well.
If the moving legend of Baima Well is an auditory feast, we can say that the local food of Baima Well must make people roar with applause. There are Hainan common seafood dishes salt and pepper mantis shrimp, Hainan traditional culinary materials Qiongshan tofu, Hainan specialty dishes coconut milk curry oyster, and Hainan specialty rare seafood maggi angle shrimp fan. All good foods collocating with moving stories, how can you hide your love to Baima Well?
With the recent spread of key project construc-tions of the Baima Well-Yangpu sea-crossing bridge，etc.Baima Well attracts more and more tourists at home and abroad，and we do believe Baima Well will set off a new round of development upsurge.
