Its total area is about 16.24 square kilometers，which consists of 4 hills:Denggao Ridge，Gong Ridge，Chengbu Ridge and Sanniu Ridge.Among them Denggao Ridge is the highest one，328 meters above the sea level.These ridges are not high but ver steep.Overlooking from the Ridge，people can see the Wanquan River and Baishi Ridge interacting with each other，mountains are binding with water，the water is surrounded by mountains，and people cannot help being excited.The shapes of the mountains are quite different and they are changing when youmove.Jagged rocks with deep caves are acting in different poses，mysterious and unpredictable.When the mist shrouds，the hills will be flickering and changing.

There are 1，038 steps winding along the cliff to the top of the highest ridge.According to the record from the Qing Dynasty，Baishi Ridge and some other ridges originated from Wuzhishan Mountain.It extends for more than ten li with splendid scenes.After reaching the top of the mountain，we can enjoyeight scenes on the ridge，such as Sky Pillars，God Bell，Blue Lion，Green Barriers and the Moon，Wind-blowing Cave，Lane Bull，Colorful Marbles，and Green Pools.Moving forward and taking 300 steps from Wind-blowing Cave，we can enjoy the best landscape-Sky Pillars.We can feel its peaceful and pure status only by getting close to it in person.Enjoy yourselves！Now，look ahead，on the top of the ridge there are a thousand tons of giant rocks in grey，and that’s why the ridge got its name-Baishi Ridge.Look，one of the rocks is hanging in the sky but it is frightening instead of dangerous.Seen from different directions，this rock gets various shapes，a crawling tortoise，a running horse，and so on.There isa cave next to this rock and whenever there is wind，it will rustle from time to time just like the sounds of nature giving you inebriation.Since ancient times people have praised this stone not only for its beautiful looks and charming nature, but also the sounds of music flavor, different from elsewhere. The other interesting sight is Green Barriers and the Moon, two towering rocks lying eastside to the eastern peak with one large stone between them and hanging in the air.

There are also tombs of Hong Lifang, Chengbu coffin,”semi-supernatural being”Tang Lie and many splendid legends such as Baishi Ridge Areca. Metaphysician Hong Xin in the Qing Dynasty called Baishi Ridge “supernatural being full of aura”.

The mountains and water are interacting with each other in Baishi Ridge Scenic Spot, the reservoirs dot this place, and Wanquan River is like a jade belt meandering by under the mountain. Look, at the top of the eastern ridge there is a stone cave as large asa house and is called Fairy Cave, outside which there are marvelous scenes of corridors and immortals’ footprints and it has a pitiful story since ancient times: once upon a time,a female celestial had stayed in the paradise for so long that she could not bear the loneliness of life and landed in the human’s world, and lived in the cave of Baishi Ridge. On the seventh day of July, the fairy maiden met a boy called “Agui”who lived by hunting and farming. They fell inlove with each other at first sight, and got married in the cave. From then on, they treated each other respectfully and loved each other deeply, in the Chinese traditional way of man tilling the farm and woman weaving.A landlord Zhang who lived at the foot of the mountain felt jealous of Agui who was so poor but married such a beautiful wife.One day，when the fairy maiden was out，the landlord Zhang came to the cave with his servants and forced Agui to sign a deed to give up his wife.Agui was beaten to death when he refused.The wife was so sad when she got known her husband’s death that she used her magic power and punished the landlord finally.Without her husband，she stood on thestone at the top of the cave every day to pay tribute to her beloved husband.As time went by，a footprint was ground out in the slate.People built the Qingyun Temple in memory of the young couple.In order to enrich the landscape and fun of the fairy maiden cave，Qionghai City Tourism Companybuilt a tall fairy maiden statue carved by stone，refurbished the nuptial chamber，and carved poems on the cliff.

Baishi Ridge Scenic Spot was founded in the early 1990s and entitled as “Unique Tourist Spot”.In 2004，it was awarded as the”Most Influential Scenic Spot in Hainan Province”.
