Cast copper sculptures
1 min readCast copper sculptures can be divided into three types:red bronze, brass and bronze sculptures.Among”Durga,”identified as”prehistoric” Tibetan art by Professor Giuseppe Tucci, who is a famous Italian Orientalist, most are scattered, broken cast copper pieces, which can be traced back to the 1st century to the 6th century.Among the”Durga,” the message carried by metal cast implements is very complicated. These implements include belt buckles, fasteners or accessories, which are ancient daily objects, and religious tokens, totems or emblems with Buddhist symbols and patterns, indicating that they appeared after the introduction of Buddhism.Theoretically, the phase boundary of Tibetan metal sculptures is the 7th century, before which was called prehistory when Thonmi Sambhota created written language, and after which is a period with written records.
