The Group Corporation staffs presently more than 8000 employees，of which，12 are super-grade great masters of design，136 enjoy government experts’special subsidies and 4270 are high and medium ranked technicians.With strong technical forces，complete disposition of technical specialties，sound overall management capability and rich experiences，as well as advanced technical equipment and massive information resources，the Group Corporation has setup quality management system according to ISO 9001：2000 standards，and passed authentication registration.
The Group Corporation is an intermediary agency facing both domestic and foreign markets to provide comprehensive services to governments，monetary agencies，investors，developers and project legal persons for power construction，it has achieved the right of economical and technical cooperation with foreign countriesapproved by the Ministry of Foreign Economic and Trade，and qualified with project assessment consultancy for decision making.Its service scope covers power development planning，survey，design，consultation，managing，contracting and financing for power generation，transmission and substation projects and construction management.
With rich engineering practical experiences，the Group Corporation undertakes plenty power development strategic planning researches for power market analysis，electric energy consumption，power transmission from west to east，mutual power supplement between north and south，national interconnection，power industry organizational adjustment，etc.Since many years，the Group Corporation has completed about 60%of the nation’s total design and survey works for power generation，transmission and substation，undertaken more than 160 projects in more than 10 foreign countries，of which 74 projects have been awarded with national outstanding engineering design prizes and outstanding engineering survey prizes.In 2005，the Group Corporation entered for the first time among the global top 150 enterprises and international top 200 engineering design companies，ranking 104th and 147th respectively appraised by NER.
The Group Corporation occupies leading position technically in the country not only in design of conventional thermal power plant，transmission and substation，but also active in design reform.In 2000，the demonstrative project design andresearch，clean coal power generation，super-critical power units，gas-steam combined cycle generation，air cooling and conventional island of nuclear power，ultra-high voltage DC transmission etc.carried out by the Group Corporation enjoyed superiority in the country.The Group Corporation has also carried out widespread international exchange and cooperation with many foreign enterprises groups and engineering companies.
