“CHINA’S HAPPIEST CITIES 2016” ANNOUNCED IN HONG KONG
1 min read“Chinese City Rankings 2016”, released at a press conference in Hong Kong on June 21, lists China’s “cleanest”, “happiest” and “most beautiful” top 10’s. Hangzhou ranks second in the “happiest Chinese cities” list, and is followed by Huizhou, a scenic small city in Guangdong Province.
Qingdao, the coastal city in Shandong Province, tops the”happiest cities”list. Qingdao is dubbed”the Switzerland of the Orient”, and is reputed for its beer and sailing boat industry. Yantai and Jinan, also in Shandong Province, are also included in the list.
Chengdu, capital city of Sichuan Province, ranks 6th in the list. The city is recognised by UNESCO as “a paradise for foodies”. Chengdu is followed by Harbin, dubbed the “Paris of the Orient”.
In the monthly “urban credit” review listed by China Information Center, Zhejiang Province’s Ningbo ranks 2nd among the 259 district-level cities in the fourth review of 2016. Chongqing, Ningbo and Shanghaimade up the top three.
