2 min readThe Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference,also known as the People’s PCC or just”The PCC”,is a political advisorybody in the People’s Republic of China.The organization consists of delegates from a range of political parties and organizations,as well as independent members.The proportion of representation of the various parties is determined by established convention,negotiated between the parties.
Zhu De:
Zhu De was a Chinese general,politician,revolutionary and one of the pioneers of the Chinese Communist Party.After the founding of the People’s Republic of China,Zhu became one of the Ten Marshals of the People’s Liberation Army in 1955,of which he is regarded as a principal founder.

Dong Xiwen(1914-1973)was a native of Shaoxing,Zhejiang Province.In 1934,he entered the National Hangzhou Arts Academy.
The Academy sent him to Hanoi,Vietnam in 1939 where he studied for six months.During the war,he worked in Guizhou and Chongqing.
He became fascinated with the ancient murals in Dunhuang,Gansu Province which he studied for two and a half years.After the war,he was recruited by Xu Beihong as an instructor at the National Beiping Arts college.There he attempted to create a distinctly Chinese style of oil painting.
In 1948,Dong started making art in support of the revolution.He prepared the portraits of Mao Zedong and Zhu De for the auditorium where the first National Congress of Literary and Art Workers washeld.He witnessed Mao’s proclamation of the new People’s Republic and joined the Party in December 1949.
The Founding Ceremony of New China was created in 1953.
In this famous piece,Dong portrays Chairman Mao Zedong in Tian’anmen Square on 1 October 1949,with his senior associates in attendance.They are surrounded by huge lanterns,a Chinese symbol of prosperity,and a sea of red banners that declare the founding of a new nation.When first unveiled in 1953,the painting was widely hailed as one of the greatest oil paintings ever produced by a native artist.
