1 min readDuring its rule of China over two centuries by sixteen emperors, the Ming dynasty had the imperial power pushed to paramount status, which also exerted influence on porcelain production at that time.
It was during this period that the time-honored official kiln system gradually evolved into the royal kiln system, which was continued in the Qing dynasty. Accordingly, the different aesthetic inclinations of each emperor was reflected by the porcelain style during his reign. For porcelains produced by civilian kilns,though inferior in qualities and materials,they usually imitated royal products.
Therefore,here we willfocus on blue-and-white wares produced by royal kilns.
