1 min readXin jiang, famous for the Silk Road, has been a place since long ago, where multiple ethnic groups live together. Here live the Uygur, Han, Kazaks, Hui, Khalkhas, Mongolian, Ta jik, Xibe, Manchu, Uzbek, Russian, Daur, Tatar, and other ethnic groups which have a long historical standing.
Because of the multiple ethnic groups, Xin jiang boasts for having a colorful and unique food culture. Xinjiang is located at the center of Eurasia. It is a treasured land being developed in the west of China. There, aridity, lack of rain and a bigtemperature range, is the typical continental climate. This kind of natural and geographic environment dictates that there are less kinds and quantities of vegetables, so Xinjiang has established a food culture based on beef and mutton.
Once some people said jokingly,”Thesheep in Xin jiang walk on golden ways, eat Chinese medicinal herb and drink mineralized water. It is cumin too for seasoning on roasted mutton. Sheep of Xinjiang walk on g olde n roads, eat Chinese medicine and wash in hot spring”;”By eating mutton of Xinjiang, young lads can get strength and girls can get beauty”;”The mutton of Xin jiang is praised as the gas station of man and beauty salon of women”.
It is thus clear that the cuisine of Xinjiang is free from pollution, and is green food which is all natural.
