Genghis Khan’s Mausoleum

The Genghis Khan’s Mausoleum is located about 15km in the southeast of Atengxilian town of Ikinholo Banner in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.It is consisted of 3 co-adjacent mausoleum palaces.Its main hall is 26 meters in height and its east and west corridors were decorated with large frescos，which manifest the expedition history of Genghis Khan and the processes that Kublai Khan unified China.If one climbs on the steps，he can see a 5 meter-high sitting statue of Genghis Khan situated in the center of the mausoleum.The western and the easternhalls are both of 23 meters high.Outside the hall，here are 2 huge wooden wheels，which have received supremacy homage for a long time，because people say that the were used to carry the coffin of Genghis Khan.Genghis Khan’s real tomb has not been found.However，people have already taken the Genghis Khan Mausoleum as his real tomb.
