Guilin

Guilin is aiming to become a national transportation hub and gateway city. The Hunan-Guangxi- Railway( being improved to allow higher speeds) and the Guiyang-Guangzhou High-Speed Railway (under construction) intersect in Guilin. It is becoming the rail hub of southwest, south and south-central China, through which trains can directly reach all medium-and large-sized cities of the country. The Guilin-Beihai Highway, Guilin-Huangshahe Highway, Guilin-Wuzhou Highway, Loop Highway and others have been linked up and put into use, forming a highway network. Guilin Liangjiang International Airport, major national and tourist hub airport, can handle large aircraft such as the A380 and has over 50 international and domestic air routes.

Guilin’s scenery-earth’s fairest-features classical karst topography and the Lijiang River, best known for its green mountains, translucent waters, amazing caves and rock formations. Guilin tops the country in tourist development, and is seen as the barometer of tourism in China. The city tops the list of recommendations by international tourist organizations. Famous scenic spots include the Lijiang River, the scenic areas of Lijiang and Taohua rivers and four lakes, West Street in Yangshuo Longji Terraces in Longsheng, Bajiaozhai National Forest Park, the Lingqu Canal in Xing’an, Guilin Merryland Resort and the Wind& Rain Cave in Lipu. Impression-Third Sister Liu, China’s first natural backdrop spectacle, has a name in and beyond China.
