There is a beautiful legend about Haitang Bay.Long time ago，fishermen nearby the Coconut Island worked very hard but still failed to catch any fishfor four months.They felt so confused and decided to ask Sea God（witches）for help.The Sea God told fishermen that the sixth wife of Dragon King died.Only when one unmarried girl was sent to the Dragon King，would he put away his magic and restored fishermen a sufficient life.

To protect the interest of the fishermen，lots of unmarried girls volunteered to sacrifice themselves.Finally，it was decided that anyone who received betel nut thrown by the Sea God would marry the Dragon King.Finally，a girl named Haitang caught the betel nut.Even though Haitang has had a lover named A Ming，she still decided to say goodbye to her lover and threw herself into the seabed.On that night，A Ming also jumped into the sea with two stones and fulfilled his promise to stay forever with his sweetheart Haitang.

The next day after Haitang threw herself into the sea，people really began to get fresh fish.In order to commemorate the girl，this bay is called Haitang Bay.
