Jade clothes sewn with Gold Threads
1 min readAccording to the Han Dynasty’s funeral system, members of the imperial family were encoffined wearing jade clothes sewn with gold threads. 141BC–in Mancheng County of Hebei Province. Composed of a total 2,498 iade flakes stitched together with gold threads that weigh about 1,100 grams, it reflects the superb technological level of jade treatment at that time.
Receiving the minced meat, Ying Bu felt that he was faced with imminent disaster, and thus rose in rebellion. Liu Bang fell sick at that time, but went on a punitive expedition against the mutinous forces in spite of his illness. Though finally defeating Ying Bu and driving him south of the Yangtze River, Liu was wounded by a flying arrow in the battlefield.
After returning to Chang’ an, Liu Bang refused to undergo medical treatment. As his condition was deteriorating rapidly, Liu soon died.
The Western Han Dynasty lasted for more than 200 years until Wang Mang (45 BC-AD 23) usurped the throne in the year AD 8. It had occupied an important place in Chinese history, hence the name of China’s main nationality.
