Juyongguan

Juyongguan lies to the northwest of Changping County，Being.Theterm juyong，appearing first in The Spring and Autumn Annals of Mr Lu of the Warring States Period，was attached to this pass during Qin Shi Huang’s time.In the Han Dynasty it was called Juyongguan，in the Three Kingdom’s period the West Pass，in Northern Qi，the Tax Pass，in the Tang Dynasty Juyongguan Pass，Jimen Pass or Jundu Pall.Al through Liao，Kin，Yuan，Ming and Qing dynasties to the present day it has been called Juyongguan.

The castle of this important pass of the Great Wall was built in 1368（the beginning of the Ming Hong Wu reign）by Xu Da，one of the military commanders who assisted Emperor Hong Wu（named Zhu Yuangzhang）to found the Ming Dynasty.It has been renovated many times afterwards.
