The transportation and production indicators of Xinjiang Civil Aviation developed by leaps and bounds when it entered the new century. At present, Xinjiang has 14 operational airports, which made the province of Xinjiang with the most airports in Chi-na; the route network has been formed with Urumgi as the center, connecting 82 domestic cities, and 32 cities abroad; the air transportation production was much higher than the industry average with the annual increase of 20% for three consecutive years; Urumqi Internationa Airport has become one of the seven regionalbased aviation hubs all over the country. The opening of air routes, greatly promoted tourism, investment, and business, attracting guests from all over the world to participate in economic and cultural exchanges Xinjiang is reproducing the glory of the ancient Silk Road in the air.
