Mongolian Temple Grassland is located 92km away from the Shawan County. From May to August every year, the grass here looks like a green carpet, dotted with fragrant wild flowers; Yurts of herdsman scatter in spots and cattle and sheep graze over the mountains. There is a Xigou Waterfall pouring down from the place 100 m high in the southwest;and there is a “Snow Pool”with a diameter of 300 m on the Sarkebai Peak in the south. In addition, there is a pine seedling field of planting pine, poplar, and elm trees. The beautiful scenery attracts a large number of tourists.
There are many different species of grass and herbs on the meadow, and the delicious strawberries and other wild fruits.
Nalat plain
Nalat plain is located on the vital communication line between southern and northern Xinjiang, next to Xinyuan County and even Yining City in the west, and connects with the Balguntay road along the ancient route; it is one of the world’s four major grasslands -subalpine meadow area, and has been a famous pasture since ancient times. The plain has open and flat valleys and towering peaks, as well as the deep gorges and lush forests, forming a tourist resort combining sightseeing, tour, scientific investigation, recreation, summer vacation, and buying souvenirs, with local Kazakh folk customs.
