1 min readNingbo Museum is in the city of Ningbo in Zhejiang Province.It is located in Yinzhou District and was opened on December 5,2008.The museum focuses on the history and traditional customs of Ningbo area.The museum is designed by architect Wang Shu,who won the Pritzker Architecture Prize in 2012.The design concept of the museum is a combination of mountain,water,and ocean,as the East China Sea has played an important role in the history of Ningbo.Features of Jiangnan residences are integrated into the museum’s design by decorations made from old tiles and bamboo.The whole building has a shape of a mountain and also a boat.
which shows the geographical feature in Ningbo as well as the importance of oversea commerce in its history,thus making the museum a symbol of Ningbo history and culture.
