1 min readThe name Yangjiayu (Yang Family Valley) reveals the basic facts of the village. Of the SO-plus households here, most go by the surname Yang. And the village lies in a mountain valley at an altitude of 710 meters, sheltered by deep mountains and surrounded by luxuriant vegetation. Thus this place is considered as the valley of the Yang family.
In addition to the many well-preserved historical residences, the village has also conserved some interesting. rarely—seen elements of a unique cultural heritage: such as the “Chastity Plaque” of the period of the Republic of China (1912—1949) and a report of victory and primary-school graduation certificates dating to the late Qing Dynasty (16144—1911).
Today many real—estate developers have promoted the “idyllic lifestyle“ concept to market their houses and, indeed, this has motivated many white—eollar home buyers.
But when we visited this place, we all marveled. The lifestyle advocated by the real—estate developers — a life of peace and harmony supported by enchanting natural landscapes — is already existent in this small age—old village.
Here, villagers have long led an idyllic life, living, fanning, and amusing themselves,generation after generation. The historical look and flavor of the village have been well preserved, with its general layout barely altered. Strolling along the winding stone—slab roads and lanes, seeing the wall-side grasses and wild flowers swaying in the wind, you will be greeted by many picturesque scenes.
