Putuo Mountain

Putuo Mountain is one of the four holy Buddhist Mountains in China.It is one of the 1，390 islands of Zhoushan Islands.Surrounded by sea，Putuo Mountain covers nearly 13 square kilometers.It is easy to find famous temples，monasteries，and nunneries on the mountain.The beautiful scenery on the mountain and Buddhism make Putuo Mountain a sacred place.

The biggest temple on the mountain is Puji Temple，which was first built during 618-907.It was rebuilt and given its present name in 1080.There are 9 halls，12 pavilions，and 1，612 houses in the temple.All of the structures of Puji Temple cover nearly 14，000square meters.Yuantong Hall is the main building in Puji Temple.In the hall，there is a statue of Pilu Guanyin of 8.8 meters high.On both sides of the hall，there are 32 statues of the reincarnation of Guanyin.People can see monks chanting and worshipping Guanyin in the temple in the early morning.
