Travel westward for 150km along the Sino-Pakistan Highway from Akto County, you will find it suddenly open and clear. The steep mountains retreat suddenly, and you will see a wide expanse of flat land in front of you. Driving through the”tiger’s mouth”, turn right on a simple gravel road winding like an umbilical cord, and after another 20km driving on the duns ups and downs, you will reach a vast water area shining the golden light under the summer sun, quite dazzling. The Kongur Tobe Feng standing upright beside the lake is slim and graceful, penetratingdirectly into the sky with impressive appearance. Overlooking thevast waters, you could see the peaks reflected in the lake glittering and translucent, and quite charming. The underwater is just like a richly decorated jade palace, which will give you unlimited reverie.
Embraced by the snow-capped mountains and peaks, the Qiakelake Lake seems to be more peaceful and more profound, like a jade embedded in the mountains. This lake of 44km”leans close to the kunlun mountains the lake looks more beautiful and clearer in contrast to the peaks, and the peaks are straighter and more refined in contrast to the lake.
Qiakelake Lake is a sea of life in the plateau, Kirgiz herdsmen are proud to say that in winter, the lake is a natural skating rink; while in summer, it is a vast swimming pool. In every afternoon of summer, the water becomes warm, and a group of young people will jump into the water like birds, rousing numerous white water birds and brown wild ducks.
