Qin Shihuang’s Mausoleumis situatedat the northern foot ofLishan Mountain in Lingtong County,35 kilometers away from the city of Xi’an.Thismassive tomb complex was constructed over nearly forty years from 246 BC to 208 BC by Qin Shihuang.
2.Qing Shihuang’s Mausoeum
This is a tomb hill built by ramming the earth and piling up rocks.The tomb is now remains 47 meters high with the bottom of 485×515 meters.The whole mausoleum has two parts,the inner and outer cities.
3.The Terracotta Legions in the Pits
Pit No.1 was stumbled in March 1974,where the warriorsowere dressed and appeared ready for battle with weapons.Pit No.2 was found in 1976,which contains1,400 warriors and differs greatly from the first one.Pit No.3 was discovered in 1980,which is small and thought to be the garrison headquarters of the Qin Dynasty army.Then the fourth pit was found,but it is empty.
4.Bronze chariots and horses
In December 1980,two teams oflarge painted bronze?chariots?and horses wereunearthed 20 meters west of the mound of Emperor Qin’s Mausoleum,which provides extremely valuable material and data for the textual research of the metallurgical technique,the mechanism of the chariot and technological modeling of the Qin dynasty.
