Rim Locking Stitch, is one of the most ancient skills with the Miao people and it is mostly used for the linear contour of the pattern. Patchwork embroidery, is a technique with the characteristic of putting color cloth pieces to embroidery for decoration or patterns. To begin with the pattern to be embroidered will be simulated on a piece of paper and sticking to the underground cloth and the colored cloths, enlarged a little bit, in the same pattern, sticked to cover the paper with the rim rolled up and fixed onto the underground cloth.
The fixing is usually with a color ribbon or color fine for both fixing and decoration purposes.And in most of the cases the work thus prepared will have to add some more embroidery work on it. So the Patchwork Stitch is usually the combination of several embroidery techniques.
