The ruins of the gucheng County of Kara Pier is located at the end of Keriya River and deep in the desert 300km away from the north of today ‘s Yutian County and 440km away from Hetian City. Kara Pier means “Black Sand Dune”in the Uyghur language.
The old Castle, where many cultural relics such as pottery pieces, felt pieces and ancient coins of the han Dynasty once were unearthed is rectangular with a side length of 60m and the exiting soil wall built with a layer of branches and a layer of soil, is 8m high. The Ruins of the Gucheng County of Kara pier was one of the small cities belonging to khotan Kingdom from the han Dynasty to the northern and Southern Dynasties and its discovering plays an important role in the research on oasis desertification of Hetian region
Ruins of the old City of Bo Shituo Hu Mubarak
The Bo shituo Hu Mubarak Old City Relics is located at about 10km away from the south of today’s Yutian County with remaining soil wall of 60m long, over 2m high and a circumference of 1,104m, outside of which there are ditch canals ruins.
