Statue of Gan Jiang and Mo Ye
1 min readThe statue of Gan Jiang and Mo Ye stands by the side of Jianchi. It is moulded in a state of forging sword. Mo Ye in comely and dignified feature holds a sword with the expression of tenacity, and Gan Jiang full of masculine power is posing for striking with a forging hammer.
Their facial expressions reveal the evident firmness and success. The statue has far-reaching significance beyond itself. It is not only to tell visitors the solemn and sentimental story but also depicts the bravery and intelligence of the ancient Chinese. It is a hot spot for tourists to take photos as a souvenir.
Having seen the statue, tourists may be more fascinated by the grinding stone and testing rock used by Gan and Mo in the process of making swords.
The grinding stone is a large dark brown rock located below Flying Rainbow Bridge (Feihong Bridge, also called Fuxi Bridge). The inscriptions in Chinese seal style on the rock are from Zhou Qingyun,a modern industrialist and collector. The testing rock is situated up to Guanpu Ting(Pavilion for Watching Waterfall) about 10 meters away from the statue of Gan Jiang and Mo Ye. It is a giant rock with a deep cut.
That the line of the crack looks rather straight and neat fully proves what a pair of sharp swords they made!
