Taihe County, located in the center of Jiangxi Province, Jitai Hinterland Basin, adjacent to the Holy Land of Chinese Revolutionary -Mount Jinggang, is one of the 20 national comprehensive reform pilot counties and the only county economic reform and development Pilot County in Jiangxi Province. It dominates 24 county towns with a total area of 2,665 square kilometers, and a total population of 530,000. The forest coverage rate of the county hits 60%. The air quality is excellent and farmland water quality reaches the first-level standard, providing a good ecological condition for the development of green, pollution-free, organic products. The Taihe Black-bone Chicken is listed in the catalogue of the state origin geographical protection products, with the ten ornamental characteristics of”silky, tassel head, mulberry cockscomb, green ears, beard,1000 legs,5 melons, black skin, black bone, black meat”and the three medicinal value of health and beauty, and anti-cancer, it is renowned at all times and all over the world, it is regarded as world precious poultry for medicated food. The Taihe bamboo-pole-shape potato is a traditional specialty, known as the “South Ginseng”, and it bears highly development value as it is not only nutrient-rich, preservation-endure, easy for distributing, butalso convenient for further processing. Since the establishment of Taihe Qianyanzhou South Red Soil Development Experimental Station of Chinese Academy of Science 10 years ago, it has achieved fruitful results and a good demonstration effect, holding a certain reputation both at home and abroad.

Taihe bears great exploitation potential as it is rich in tungsten reserves, gypsum, sand, limestone, china clay and other mineral resources.
