Ten-year Old Preserved Tea
1 min readThe color of the 10-year dry tea is slightly darker than that of the 5-year tea and lighter than that of the 20-year tea stored in the same environment.
TIPS
It is commonly believed that the color of preserved tea will turn from light yellow(apricot yellow) to red and its tea liquid increasingly red with time. However, this is a fallacy.
After the raw tea becomes old preserved tea after storing forabout 30 years, the catechin oxide in the tea leaves gradually decay, and the tea liquid color returns to that of 5-to 10-year tea. Though the mellowness of the tea remains, its tea proper-ties weaken.
