The art bin on Suzhou Creek
1 min readIn 1998, the Taiwanese architect Deng Kunyan moved studio into 1305 south Suzhou Road, making it the first art bin along the Suzhou Creek. As the areas around the Creek gradually gentrified, more and more artists with a pen-chant for the nostalgic began renting the old warehouses small and large along the riverside and converted them into nto their personal studios. According to the incomplete statisticre are over 100 studios and more than 1,000 artists in the area, including painters, architects, desig signers, advertisers, video artists, and more. The arrival of these creative artists has imbued the Suzhou Creek with an artistic aura, adding a unique and modern element to the character of the riverside.
