The Flourishing Sports Industry in Xinjiang

The demand for sports of all nationalities in Xinjiang is growing, so the sports industry has great potential and a good prospect for development. In recent years, the sports work in Xinjiang has always been taking the development of mass sports and the enhancement of the healthy quality of all the people in Xinjiang as the fundamental purpose of the sports work.
From the deep and waving Ili River to the magnificent Tianshan Grand Canyon; from the lush Bayanbulak Grassland to the vast Taklimakan Desert… the land of Xinjiang reflects the colorful cultural spectrum, into the national traditional sports and modern sports loved by people of all nationalities. Xinjiang sports connect the culture and the people’s livelihood.
The numerous sports competitions
In recent years, the sports industry in Xinjiang has developed healthily. 2010 World Cup of Taekwondo was one of the light spots in the development process of sports industry in Xinjiang, which was the international competition of the highest standard held in Xinjiang.
Many countries bided to host the World Cup of Taekwondo. Xinjiang gave full play to its characteristics and advantages of “home of song and dance”, and with the rapid development of Taekwondo, Xinjiang has already had a broad mass base, so eventually won the bid with absolute predominance.
On the evening of July 16, 2010, 2010 World Cup of Taekwondo was grandly opened.
There was touching episode at the opening ceremony; a beautiful Uighur girl presented a “wealth peony print”to President Zhao Zhengyuan of the World Taekwondo Federation.The girl is named Huerxidan-Tuohuti, from Kashgar, one of the players of Xinjiang Taekwondo team. The print took her half a year to finish. She said: “I only want to express the blessing of people of all nationalities in Xinjiang for the complete success of the Cup. The audience replied the sincere girl with warm applause. Nearly 500 athletes, coaches and referees from 53 countries and regions in the world showed their elegant demeanor, exchanged experience of skills, and shared the joy and friendship in the three days of competition.
