The Nuclear Power and The Gas Industry
2 min readNuclear Power
In terms of nuclear power generation,China will advance from the moderate development strategy to accelerating development strategy.Nuclear power will playan even more important role in China’s future power development.Especially in the developed coastal areas with heavy power load, nuclear power will become the backbone of the power structure there.China has planned to build up another 30 sets of nuclear power generator within 15 years with total installed capacity of 36 to 40 million kWh,accounting for about 4%of China’s total installed capacity of the electric power industry.
In the long-term industrial plan, the National Development and Reform Commission of China has adjusted the objective of the wind power installed capacity for 2010 from 4 million kilowatts to 5 million kilowatts, and the objective for 2020 has adjusted from 20 million kilowatts to 30 million kilowatts.Conservatively estimated, when the factory price of every kilowatt of equipment is RMB 6000,the market value will total RMB 30 billion by the year 2010.
China is speeding up its hydropower development and its hydropower installed capacity will reach 250 million kilowatts by the year 2020.This means that 46%~47% of China’s water resource will be exploited and utilized then.
China’s Gas Industry
Through accurate data and full elaboration,it describes the structure of China’s gas industry and competition situation in the industry from various angles. Meanwhile,it presents assessment of major enterprises’business strategy and competitiveness.
It could especially point out the following:China’s gas industry holds huge market demand and bright prospects. The gas market is entering a rapid expansion period. With the exploitation and utilization of natural gas resources, the development of the urban gas industry has got into a new era.The inconvenience and environmental pollution caused by the use of coal have partially been resolved.
Progress has been made in gas production, distribution and application technology.
With the entry of foreign enterprises and private enterprises, monopoly will give way to fierce market competition.Although it is neglected for the time being due to monopoly, brand competition will intensify in the future.Among market segments, coal gas will fade out of the urban gas industry, while LPG still has some room to grow.In particular,in areas where natural gas cannot be distributed,LPG will become the main development direction of the urban gas industry. In the next few years, the urban gas industry will keep improving, gradually reaching the level of developed countries.
We look into problems that existed in the development of China’s gas industry in the past and major factors affecting its development in the future. On such basis,it presents qualitative and quantitative forecast of the industry. Finally,it provides development strategy and recommendations for the government, enterprises and investors respectively.
